Scholarships
The Horticultural Sciences Department has over $40,000 available annually to our undergraduate students. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholarship and leadership. All students are urged to apply. Applications are due by mid-September each year.
Applications for all scholarships will be submitted online. Students that are eligible to apply for either the Horticultural Sciences scholarships or the Phelps scholarship will be notified by email each Fall by Curtis Smyder (curtisr@ufl.edu). Eligible students will be sent instructions on how to apply along with a link to the online application form.
Those eligible for the Phelps Foundation Trust Scholarships include students in Horticultural Sciences or the Plant Science Major with specializations of Environmental Horticulture, Landscape & Nursery Horticulture, and Restoration Horticulture Environmental Horticulture.
In addition to scholarships available in the Horticultural Sciences Department, the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) awards more than $300,000 in scholarships each year. Incoming or currently enrolled students in Horticultural Sciences may submit applications, which are due to the College by March 15. Scholarship application forms can be accessed from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS).
