    Hands On Experience

Hands-on lab and field experience across multiple specialties.

The Department of Horticultural Sciences united its undergraduate program with the Plant Science Major in 2023. The new Plant Science Major combines the resources, faculty, and staff from four core CALS departments (Horticultural Sciences, Agronomy, Environmental Horticulture, and Plant Pathology) to create a more flexible, interdisciplinary curriculum. This transformation is designed to provide students with a broader understanding of plant science, including breeding, cultivation, management, processing, and restoration.

Current Horticultural Sciences undergraduate students continue to complete their studies with their initial curriculum. These students will have full support from our faculty and staff as they finalize their coursework and prepare for graduation.
