The Tracking Florida’s Largest Fruits and Vegetables is a UF/IFAS program that celebrates state record sized fruits and vegetables. Through this statewide record-tracking program, farmers and gardeners can submit their largest fruits and vegetables for a chance to earn recognition and see how their harvest compares across the Sunshine State.
We aim to deepen appreciation for Florida farmers by giving participants firsthand experience growing their own food. Raising large produce takes time, planning, problem-solving, and persistence. This recognition offers a small glimpse into the challenges growers face everyday, like the immense amount of labor and the intensity of making crucial decisions.
Participation is simple: grow eligible fruits and vegetables in Florida, contact your local Extension Office, and submit a form for official measurement and record consideration. Whether you’re a longtime gardener, farmer, a youth participant, or simply trying to grow your biggest tomato yet, the program offers a fun and engaging way to learn more about agriculture while joining a little friendly competition.
