    Elite Grower Program

    The Elite Grower program is NEW FOR 2026!

    • For growers or technical experts managing propagation or production in greenhouse or nurseries,
      including controlling plant growth and the growing environment, calculating production cost and
      managing a diverse team
    • The University of Florida (UF) is collaborating with Michigan State University (MSU) and other universities to provide a variety of training opportunities.
    • Pass five courses listed below on greenhouse and nursery management, young and stock plant
      management, and costing to obtain a certificate from UF and MSU Extension.
    • Grow your career, gain new skills and build your resume.

    Pass five of the following courses:

     

    • Greenhouse & Nursery 101 (UF): May 26 - June 19, 2026 & Jan 11 - Feb 5, 2027 Success with your Latino Workforce (UF): Nov 2 - Dec 4, 2026
    • Plant Growth Regulators (UF): Sep 28 - Oct 30, 2026
    • Climate Management (UF): Apr 13 - May 11, 2026
    • Cuttings and Stock Plant Management (UF): Aug 17 - Sep 18, 2026
    • Costing and Profitability (UF): Next course 2027
    • Greenhouse and Horticultural Lighting (MSU): On Demand Nov - Mar

    Elite Grower Program certificate

    Growers sign up for individual courses through UF Greenhouse Training Online (hos.ifas.ufl.edu.training) and MSU Website. Growers can obtain their certificate at no extra charge by emailing greenhousetraining@ifas.ufl.edu once the five courses are successfully completed. Courses do not have to be completed in the same year. Greenhouse Training Online is supported by a grant from the American Floral Endowment (https://endowment.org), the Floriculture Research Alliance (floriculturealliance.org), and a gift from Ken & Deena Altman.
