    Plant Health Professional Program

    The University of Florida has teamed with Michigan State University and several other leading universities to offer a qualification in plant health management for greenhouse and nursery growers. Pass five courses in plant health listed below to obtain a certificate of completion from University Extension to recognize your training, skills, and dedication as a Plant Health Professional. You can use this certificate to help grow your career and build your resume.

    Growers must pass five of seven courses, which include:

    • Nutrient Management 1 (UF) Mar 2 - Mar 27
    • Field Diagnosis of Plant Diseases (UF) Nov 2 - Dec 4
    • Practical Disease Management (UF) Mar 30 - Apr 24
    • Weed Management (UF) Sep 7 - Oct 2
    • Abiotic Disorders (MSU/Ohio State University)
    • Biological Control (MSU/Kansas State University)
    • Disease Management (UF) 2023 Course or earlier

    Growers sign up for individual courses through UF Greenhouse Training Online and MSU website (canr.msu.edu/online-college-of-knowledge). Growers can obtain their certificate at no extra charge by emailing greenhousetraining@ifas.ufl.edu once the five courses are successfully completed. Courses do not have to be completed in the same year.
